ABC15 has teamed up with White Water Bottling Company and St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance for a one-day water drive to help the less fortunate in our community Thursday.

The phone bank has raised $4,672 and we raised 1,557 cases of water!

St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance and all of the more than 70 Valley Goodwill locations served as drop-off locations.

ABC15 was live from St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance during various broadcasts throughout the day. In addition, volunteers collected monetary donations from a phone bank from 9am – noon and 4pm – 7pm.

“With temperatures hovering over 110 degrees, water can truly be the difference between life and death among many residents in Arizona,” said White Water Bottling Company Vice President Andrew DePasquale. “Our hope is that we can get enough people together to help St. Mary’s satisfy the increasing need for water during our hottest time of year.”

“A long hot Arizona summer is off to an especially scorching start, putting even more of a strain on our precious supplies of bottled water,” said St. Mary’s President and CEO Tom Kertis. “With several months of triple-digits temperatures still ahead, we are grateful to ABC15 and White Water Bottling Company for raising awareness for the need of water donations and for helping St. Mary’s re-stock its dwindling supplies so we can get water to those who need our assistance.”

“Arizona is a fantastic place to live, but we all know that the heat can be deadly during the summer months,” said ABC15 News Director Chris Kline. “Helping St. Mary’s get enough water to help our neighbors in need aligns with ABC15’s goal of making Arizona a better place to live.”
