Tempe's annual New Year's Eve fireworks show is back for its grand finale.

Weeks after it was announced that Tempe's big New Year's Eve block party was going to be "scaled back" this year due to funding and support issues, Four Peaks announced on Tuesday that it would pay for the fireworks show.

Once the clock strikes midnight on Dec. 31, fireworks will explode over Mill Avenue to ring in 2017. Exactly where the fireworks will launch from and for how long were still being figured out, organizers said.

"We're doing it. We're pleased that Four Peaks can bring back the tradition of fireworks over Mill," said Jim Scussel, the brewery owner, in a prepared statement.

While the fireworks show is a go, the block party still is not. Instead, according to the Downtown Tempe Authoritywho has organized the block party for the last three years, it will be up to the individual bars along Mill Avenue to throw their own parties.
