City leaders sport Guns N' Roses shirts, proclaim Glendale as 'Paradise City'

Take me down to... Glendale?

On Wednesday, Mayor Jerry Weiers proclaimed Glendale's name will become "Paradise City" for the day of August 15.

The symbolic change is in honor of the Guns N' Roses concert taking place that day at University of Phoenix Stadium.

The "Not in This Lifetime" tour is the first time in 20 years that band members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan will play together.

At a news conference, Weiers, along with city council members and representatives from the stadium management company SMG, dressed in Guns N' Roses T-shirts and unveiled a welcome sign that will greet visitors coming to the city. They also plan to erect billboards in the upcoming days.
