A Phoenix man stopped his girlfriend from driving drunk and got assaulted for it.

Court records show that on May 23, a man stopped his girlfriend from driving while drunk by yanking her keys out of the car she was in. She allegedly grabbed a crow bar and struck him over the head with it.

Police say that 45-year-old Christine Burley was already sitting in her car near 26th and Roosevelt streets, when her boyfriend approached her and reached into the car, taking the keys.

As he left, Burley reportedly grabbed a crowbar from the back seat and struck him in the head. Police report that the boyfriend pushed Burley away, cutting her on the cheek with keys that were still in his hand.

Burley was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
