A Mesa man on probation for one sex crime was busted for downloading several thousand videos and images containing child pornography.
Court records show that 31-year-old Shea Andrews, who is on 'intensive probation' for sexual conduct with a minor, was caught with porn involving "infants and toddlers being tortured".
Chandler police say that they began an online investigation looking into a network for sex offenders sharing child pornography. As part of this investigation they served a warrant on Andrews' Mesa home near Alma School Road and University Drive.
Andrews, whose probation prohibits him from having internet access, hid his modem in a box in his home. He also, unbeknownst to them, used another family member's account to access the internet.
Police report that Andrews downloaded thousands of images from March 1 to May 2, 2016. More than 29,000 files were downloaded to an SD card plus another 2,000 images downloaded directly to a cell phone.
Andrews has been charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation with a minor.
