While investigating a 2013 murder, police found a DNA match connected to a woman arrested in February for robbery.

Phoenix Police report that on August 5, 2013, a business owner discovered a decomposing body under an overturned couch behind his business, near 19th Avenue and Cactus Road.

Police say the victim, Robin Carle, was stabbed multiple times. They located a bloody knife in a nearby dumpster. Police report that a DNA profile of a woman was found under the fingernails of the victim and on the handle of the knife.

At the time, there was no match to the DNA profile.

That changed in February when a match was made to 28-year-old Makayla Joy Lamb, who was arrested for a robbery of a Phoenix dollar store on February 1.

She is being held on a $500,000 bond and has been charged with second-degree murder and concealment of a dead body.
