A Scottsdale woman is in custody after reportedly shooting her boyfriend seven times.

Police responded to the home near Scottsdale and Happy Valley roads around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say they met the 911 caller and suspect, Delia Mary Flores, 53, outside the home where she initially denied knowing what happened to her boyfriend.

The victim was sleeping in a chair when he heard what he thought was fireworks before realizing he had been shot.

Police say the victim had seven gunshot wounds, two in his neck, one in his back, one gunshot wound to his penis and two to his scrotum.

Police found a .32 caliber handgun in the home along with several shell casings. Police report that they also found a box for the gun and ammunition in a 'Victoria's Secret' bag in the closet with a receipt made out to Flores, dated February 16.

Flores later allegedly admitted to police that she shot her boyfriend because she believed he was cheating on her. The victim denied having an affair and reportedly told police he doesn't know why Flores would shoot him.

Police said the man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Flores is being held on $750,000 bond and will be facing attempted 1st-degree murder and aggravated assault charges.
