The last thing you want after a hospital stay is a bill you don't owe.
Patty of Phoenix says that's just what she got.
But despite the collection notices, she wasn't going to pay it.
Patty says some of the charges were for things she didn't use or services she didn't get.
She says she got those removed.
But she was still left with more than $300 owed that Patty says insurance should have paid.
After months of getting nowhere, she let me know.
And the Assistance League of Phoenix volunteer team went to work.
In just two weeks of back and forth, the volunteers had some good news for a skeptical Patty.
The bill had been wiped away and Patty was even due a small refund.
Lesson here? No matter how frustrating it can get, don't give up.
