U.S. Labor Secretary Tom Perez spent Saturday stumping for Hillary Clinton in Phoenix.

He held a college affordability roundtable with students at Luna Culture Lab in Downtown Phoenix and also weighed in on Arizona's Proposition 206.

"I think that voters in Arizona understand that when you're making eight bucks an hour, you can't feed your family," Perez said.

If voters approve Prop. 206 in November — early voting starts Oct 12 — the minimum wage would increase to $10 an hour next year, before a $12 an hour spike in 2020. It would also mandate paid sick leave depending on the number of hours worked.
