Officials are investigating after a man died in a house fire in Pinal County.
The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office said the fire happened at a house south of Maricopa on Wednesday night.
According to PCSO, a pickup truck was backing into the corner of the house and hit the house. The driver tried to remove the truck from the house but the tires ignited a fire and the fire spread to the house and an RV.
The driver of the truck did not survive the crash and fire.
A couple living in the house were able to escape the fire with the help of Border Patrol. A Border Patrol agent used his truck to known down a portion of a backyard fence and the couple was able to escape.
PCSO is still investigating the scene. The name of the person killed has not been released.
The couple living in the house did not know why the driver was on the property. They did not recognize the man or his truck.
