Blowing dust has once again temporarliy closed down Interstate 10 in southeastern Arizona near San Simon.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, dust blowing off from a farm in San Simon has affected the roadway.

The closure was in effect in both directions of I-10 for more than 60 miles from east of Willcox to Lordsburg, New Mexico for most of the day Sunday, but the highway reopened around 7 p.m.

Drivers were rerouted through Safford by using U.S. 191 and U.S. 70.

I-10 in the area has recently been closed down several times due to blowing dust.

ADOT said state agencies have been working with the owner of the farm to try to find a solution to avoid the dust from picking up with high winds.

DPS does suggest drivers avoid driving into dust, other tips are available here.
