A Valley husband is grieving the loss of his wife who died Sunday while mountain biking with friends.
Chris Teixeira told ABC15 that his wife Sarah died while mountain biking with two friends on Sunday. He said doctors told him that her aorta had ruptured.
He did not want to talk on camera, but did provide a photo of Sarah. He added that she was 36. Officials reported her age to be 28.
Sarah was mountain biking on the Desert Vistra Trail on Sunday with two friends, a doctor and a personal trainer, according to fire officials. At some point she became exhausted and became unresponsive.
Sarah was a personal trainer herself. Fire officials said the group began hiking at 6 a.m. and had enough water with them.
