A former Scottsdale high school teacher and track coach accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and lifetime probation.
Maricopa County Superior Court officials say Christopher Thomas McKenna was sentenced Friday for sexual conduct with a minor and two counts of aggravated luring a minor for sexual exploitation.
The 37-year-old McKenna, a Phoenix resident, was arrested last December.
He was released pending trial, but ordered to wear an ankle bracelet and to not have contact with the student.
McKenna was arrested again in February after police say monitoring reports and other evidence showed he had been in contact with the girl.
The Scottsdale Unified School District put McKenna on leave and later fired him.
