A former teacher's aide at a Scottsdale middle school who was arrested in a 2014 child pornography case has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say 46-year-old Alvin Ray McClellan also was sentenced Friday to lifetime probation with sex offender terms.

McClellan was arrested in March 2014 after police served a search warrant at his Scottsdale apartment.

Police reported finding numerous child pornography items, including photos and videos.

McClellan was booked into jail on suspicion of 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

He taught at Mohave Middle School as a special education teacher's assistant.
