A kitten that was trapped in a stove vent for 36 hours is finally free and looking for a forever home.

The Arizona Humane Society said they rescued the 10-week-old Russian Blue kitten Tuesday after Scottsdale residents reported that they had been hearing the kitten’s cries. The residents said they tried several times to rescue the kitten, but when they couldn’t they called for help.

Humane society technicians were able to disassemble the stove vent and free the kitten, which was hungry and dehydrated but not seriously hurt.

The kitten, which has been named Sadie, will be ready for adoption Thursday afternoon at the Arizona Humane Society’s Campus for Compassion at 1521 W. Dobbins Road.
