A 23-year-old was arrested on extreme DUI charges after a car he was reportedly driving smashed through a fence line at a Scottsdale airport.
Police officials were called to the Scottsdale Municipal Airport on Sunday around 5:45 p.m. after a white Honda Civic had attempted to run through a fence line.
Officials said Preston Scott Andrews was "driving around on the airfield inside of the airport grounds" when he attempted to leave the property by smashing through a gate.
The car Andrews was driving was stuck in the fence line, Scottsdale police said, and Andrews was quickly taken into custody.
The man faces extreme DUI and felony criminal damage charges, and the Scottsdale Police Department is currently working with the Federal Aviation Administration on federal charges.
Officials said the incident is not linked to terrorism at this time.
