Scottsdale police say a man was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Thursday morning.
According to police, officers were called to the area of Scottsdale and McDowell roads around 2:30 a.m. after a man, later identified as 24-year-old Landry Forkiner, was seen in the intersection.
Police say for an unknown reason before the crash, Forkiner left the sidewalk and laid down in the roadway just east of the crosswalk. He was then hit by a car headed westbound and pronounced dead.
Officials are investigating the crash as a hit-and-run collision.
Scottsdale police say they have determined that the vehicle they're searching for is a 1993-2002 dark colored Toyota Corolla, pictured above in a traffic camera and stock photo.
The area of Scottsdale and McDowell roads was closed for several hours, but reopened around 10 a.m.
