BLACK CANYON CITY — Firefighters say a brush fire that broke out Sunday morning near the Sunset Point Rest Area near Black Canyon City is 100 percent contained.
According to a tweet by Department of Public Safety Trooper Randi Wybron, troopers were "actively working a vehicle fire" in the area which extended into the median.
Forward progress of the brush fire, later deemed the "Sunday Fire," was stopped around 1:30 p.m.
Fire crews were able to get full containment around 5 p.m.

The fire caused serious delays on Interstate 17. After being shut down for several hours, officials say all lanes of I-17 reopened around 4:30 p.m.
