Posted
A golden eagle rescued after being struck by a truck is back in the wild of northwestern Arizona.

The eagle was injured Nov. 19 when it crashed through the passenger side of the truck's front windshield on Interstate 40 near Seligman. It flew out of the truck but a state trooper responding to the trucker's call found it on the highway's shoulder.

The trooper summoned help from the Arizona Game and Fish Department and the bird was captured in a nearby ditch. Veterinarians at Bearizona Wildlife Park near Williams diagnosed its injury and it was taken to Liberty Wildlife in Scottsdale, for treatment and recovery.

After two months of treatment, the bird flew off being released Tuesday from the top of a hill about five miles west of Seligman.
