Chino Valley police have arrested a man and his girlfriend after a child was found bound, beaten and burned on Thursday afternoon.
Officials responded to a home in Chino Valley around 2:45 p.m. on June 8 where a 10-year-old was not breathing. The child had second- and third-degree burns, as well as bruising, all over his body. Emergency responders performed life-saving treatments at the scene before he was flown to Phoenix Children's Hospital.
Police say 36-year-old Daniel Terry and 34-year-old Julianna Moreno are believed to be responsible for the 10-year-old's injuries that left him in extremely critical condition. Evidence suggests that the child was hurt at the home while bound and restrained.
Chino Valley Police, Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, Yavapai County Attorney's Office and the Department of Child Services is investigating the incident.
Police say Terry and Moreno are facing charges of attempted first-degree murder, child abuse and aggravated assault.
