Authorities are investigating after an 18-year-old girl was found dead two weeks after being reported missing in Prescott Valley.
Leanna Lefler’s co-workers reported her missing on April 29 after she failed to turn up for her shift at Walmart.
After unsuccessfully locating Lefler, Prescott Valley police reached out to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office to assist in the search for the woman.
On Friday afternoon, Lefler’s body was located at the top of Glassford Hill Mountain, police said. Lefler was discovered off of a maintenance road.
The case remains under investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
It’s unknown if Lefler’s death is suspicious or if authorities are searching for a suspect in connection to the case.
