Firefighters are investigating how a golf clubhouse in Ahwatukee caught fire Sunday night.
Phoenix and Tempe firefighters were called to the area of 44th Street and Knox Road where a clubhouse was on fire.
The clubhouse was previously owned by the Ahwatukee Lakes Golf Course, which has been closed for a while.
The True Life Companies, which owns the property released the following statement to ABC15 on Monday morning:
"In response to this morning's incident, we took immediate steps to secure the clubhouse and surrounding area to ensure the safety of the Ahwatukee Foothills community."

The fire was reported shortly before midnight.
Phoenix Fire Captain Reda Bigler said crews had to fight the fire defensively.
