A child is hospitalized after accidentally shooting himself in the leg.
Officers were called to a home near 39th and Peoria avenues Wednesday night after receiving reports of a gunshot, Phoenix Police said.
According to officials, the two-year-old boy was playing with his father's handgun when it went off. He was taken to Phoenix Children's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
