The holidays can put a big financial strain on families and your budget. But if you're looking for a way to land a good paying job here in the Valley, then Amazon could be your answer.

They're holding a huge hiring fair Thursday at the Arizona@Work offices. They are going to be hiring on the spot, too.

Amazon is looking to fill 1,700 positions altogether. This includes part-time and full-time. Those full-time employees will also be offered benefits starting on day one.

This will be to staff their new return center that will open in a few weeks off of 53rd Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.

There are a couple of requirements: potential employees must be at least 18 years old, hold a high-school diploma or GED, and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 12 hours a day.

Amazon spokesperson Ashley Robinson says, "Amazon does a lot of the robust training that folks need to work in one of our fulfillment centers. So people don't need to come equipped with past licenses or backgrounds in retail. They just need to show that they're excited and enthusiastic about serving customers this holiday season."

Amazon has already started recruiting in the Valley. They've hired 800 people but still need to fill 900 jobs.

Business Services Representative with DES Sandra Pereira says at an earlier recruiting session, "They hired 194 people...And these are on the spot offers that they made. Which is awesome."

The hiring fair starts at 10 a.m. and goes until 3 p.m. at Arizona@Work offices at 1840 N. 95th Avenue, Suite 160 in Phoenix. You're encouraged to arrive early and be dressed for interviews.
