Neighbors alerted homeowners who didn't know their car caught on fire early Saturday morning.
The Phoenix Fire Department was called out to a home near 19th Avenue and Colter Street after calls of a fire at a home.
Firefighters extinguished a car that caught on fire in the carport. The fire did not extend into the home.
Firefighters say the homeowners were woken up by a neighbor who rushed to their door to tell them to vacate the home. Those inside were able to safely escape.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
