What's better than enjoying a baseball game with your best friends? Being able to enjoy the game with your four-legged friends, too!
The Arizona Diamondbacks and PetSmart are partnering up to make the first ballpark that welcomes dogs all season long, at each of the 13 Sunday D-backs home games.
Chase Field in downtown Phoenix is set to be outfitted with a brand new PetSmart Patio, PetSmart Park and a Dog Days of Summer program.
PetSmart Patio
The PetSmart Patio will be along the main concourse behind the left-center field wall. There will be multi-tiered seating for families and dogs of all kinds, so your whole family can be comfortable.
PetSmart Park
If your pup is getting antsy and isn't ready to sit through every inning, the PetSmart Park offers indoor and outdoor play areas so pets can play. The indoor section is even air-conditioned to keep everyone cool and comfortable. Of course, the park is baseball themed.
Dog Days of Summer Program
The Diamondbacks offer special ticket packages and food for human fans, so why not offer the same for the furry fans? During all 13 home games, pets can enjoy special doggie ice cream with kibble toppings and other snacks. The Dog Days of Summer ticket package also comes with a bag full of PetSmart swag.
As part of PetSmart's charitable adoption program, there will also be a spot at Chase Field showcasing adoptable pets ready for a forever home.
"We are excited to create a unique dog-friendly area of our ballpark and can think of no better way than to partner with Phoenix-based PetSmart," Diamondbacks president and CEO, Derrick Hall said in a media release.
"Bark at the Park has always been a popular event at Chase Field and now we are thrilled to offer fans the opportunity to bring their dogs to our games every Sunday to a new destination designed specifically for them," Hall says.
The dog-friendly park is said to be the first one in the entire country.
