Officials are investigating after a body was found Tuesday as crews battled a fire at a Phoenix apartment complex.
Crews responded to the apartments, located near 55th Avenue and Indian School Road, around 4:30 p.m. where they found a working fire on the second floor.
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire after accessing the apartment, and stop it from spreading to other units.
During the initial firefight, Phoenix fire officials say crews found an adult victim dead inside the apartment.
Fire investigators are at the scene working with police on the investigation.
