Authorities say a man is dead after being shot multiple times in central Phoenix.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, a 37-year-old man was shot on Sunday afternoon near 16th Street and Thomas Road.
The victim was taken to a trauma facility in critical condition but later died of his injuries, officials said. He has since been identified as Salvador Amador.

Witnesses told police that about seven people were fighting before the shooting occurred.

A neighbor spoke with ABC15 and said she heard the group arguing and yelling before nearly 10 gunshots.
The suspect fled the area and authorities are still attempting to locate him or her, a Phoenix police spokesperson said.
Two people were seen leaving the shooting scene in a truck but it's unknown if they were involved, police said.
No additional information has been released at this time, but an investigation is ongoing.
