A new burger joint in Phoenix got some star power Monday.
Alice Cooper helped Hopdoddy Burger Bar with its Grand Opening at the company's second Phoenix-area location. Hopdoddy is donating part of its proceeds to Cooper's Solid Rock Foundation.
"They're giving a dollar for every No More Mr. Nice Guy burger. And the burgers are amazing. They're really good," Cooper said.
The bun on the No More Mr. Nice Guy burger was inspired by Cooper himself. It's blackened with activated charcoal powder. Inside is Angus beef, cheddar, hickory BBQ sauce, caramelized onions, sliced jalapenos and the company's signature sassy sauce; a mixture of mayo, horseradish and honey mustard.
Cooper said he's thrilled for the support from Hopdoddy. He and his wife started the Solid Rock Foundation four years ago. Any teenager can attend for free and learn to play the guitar or drums.
"You have a choice at a certain age you either go into a gang or into a band," Cooper said. "We would rather have you be in a band. You're going to be in a lot less trouble. We also have a dance program my wife does."
Hopdoddy is headquartered in Austin Texas and partners with local charities near all of its locations.
