A dog is lucky to be alive Monday after getting stuck on a Valley freeway, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Officials said they found the little white pooch shortly after 6 p.m. on the median on State Road 51 at Thunderbird Road. The dog was not hurt, but its owner was nowhere to be found.

ADOT officials said the dog was checked out by a veterinarian. The dog is not micro-chipped, so officials are hoping an owner will come forward to claim it.
