A man was shot while trying to intervene during an argument between a woman and another man in the west Valley overnight.
The shooting happened shortly after 2 a.m. on Monday in the area of 27th Avenue and Bethany Home Road where Phoenix police say a man and a woman stopped in a parking lot near a bar.
The woman got out of their vehicle and went into the bar. When she left, a man was following her and followed her to the parked car.
The woman and the man from the bar got into an argument and the man waiting in the vehicle got out to intervene when he was shot by the man.
The victim was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.
Police are looking for the suspect. No suspect information was immediately available.
