A two-year-old girl was rushed to a Valley hospital in critical condition Tuesday evening after being pulled from a pool, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
Officials said the child was found unresponsive but breathing after slipping underwater momentarily near 36th and Van Buren streets shortly before 7 p.m. A neighbor performed CPR on the child until paramedics arrived, and fire officials said that may have been what saved her life.
The Phoenix Police Department said the child is expected to survive and that they are investigating the near-drowning.
