A Circle K clerk is in serious condition after being shot Friday night in Phoenix, and on Saturday morning police said all three suspects have been arrested.

The shooting occurred inside the Circle K near 19th Avenue and Osborn Road on Friday.

According to the investigation, two individuals attempted to rob the store of cigarettes, but were confronted by a security guard, who ultimately detained one of them.

The other individual ran out of the store, but came back with two others and with weapons and shot the store clerk in the back, police said. The clerk, a man, was taken to the hospital with a serious injury.

The three suspects then ran out of the store, however all three were later located and detained on Saturday, police say. The vehicle they fled in was also recovered.

Police confirm the incident is connected to similar thefts in the area. Phoenix police said the suspects' descriptions and motive match similar thefts that are under investigation in the area over the past month. Those descriptions have not been released yet.

The clerk who was injured remains in the hospital.
