Officials are investigating a death in central Phoenix that has been ruled a homicide.
Phoenix police said officers responded to the incident Monday afternoon at an apartment complex south of Central Avenue and Camelback Road.
A female suspect fled the scene after allegedly killing a man and was later spotted by a bystander who called police. Police eventually located the woman downtown and during negotiations an officer reportedly felt threatened and shot her.
The female suspect was taken to the hospital and died from her injuries. She has not been identified.
The male victim has also not been identified, but police say the two did know each other.
