Phoenix police are investigating threats made to at least five different high schools Monday morning.
Police say threats have been made against Cesar Chavez, Maryvale, Carl Hayden, Trevor Brown and other schools in the Phoenix Union High School District as well as others in surrounding areas.
“We are aware of the social media postings and are working with school officials to help ensure everyone’s safety,” said Sergeant Jonathan Howard with the Phoenix Police Department.
Details on what exact threats were made have not been made available by police, but several social media posts threatening violence at the schools were sent to ABC15 from viewers.
A representative with the PUSD said parents at the schools have been notified via phone messenger and are allowed to pick up students if they prefer, but classes have not been canceled at any schools.
