ABC15 has learned plans are in the works to bring Donald Trump back to the Valley for a rally this weekend.
Sources familiar with the campaign plans say Trump would likely fly into the Valley Friday night and hold a rally in a large venue on Saturday at noon.
While plans frequently change in national campaigns, sources tell ABC15 the campaign will make a final determination on Wednesday, after Florida and Ohio hold their primaries. If Trump doesn’t roll to victories in those states, Arizona would become a much bigger factor in securing the Republican nomination.
Tuesday’s results could determine whether the campaign makes another stop in Arizona.
Trump has held two previous rallies in Arizona, each time attracting thousands of supporters. The Republican front-runner has a sizeable lead in statewide polls in Arizona. A January statewide poll showed Trump leading his nearest competitor Ted Cruz – 38 percent to 15 percent
Campaign sources say it’s still too early to determine ticketing for the event, but those plans will likely be announced Wednesday.
