Twenty-six-year-old Curtis Crawford was arrested Saturday after the shooting death of his girlfriend in Phoenix.
The incident happened Saturday afternoon at a home near Van Buren and 19th streets.
Court documents released Monday detail the incident, which witnesses say started with an argument outside the home. Crawford originally told police that the victim, Victoria, shot and killed herself inside the home after stabbing herself several times during the argument.
Crawford told police the fight was over him cheating on the victim, and that she had psychological issues. However, court documents show that after Crawford agreed to a polygraph test, he admitted that he accidentally shot her and was scared to tell police what happened.
Police have not yet released the victim’s last name.
Crawford was arrested on one count of manslaughter.
