Several units at a north Phoenix apartment complex have been destroyed after a fire early Saturday morning, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

More than 80 firefighters responded to the complex near 7th Street and Grovers Avenue just after 3:30 a.m. and found extensive fire on half of the second floor of the building which prompted a 2nd alarm response.

Fire officials say four units were destroyed and four others have extensive water damage because of the firefight.

The building has 16 units and is split in half by a firewall, according to fire officials.

Firefighters treated and transported five patients to the hospital following the fire.

Fire officials say between 10 to 15 people have been displaced from the fire; investigators are now on scene looking into the cause of the fire.

No firefighters were hurt during the incident.
