Police say officers responded to the area of Cave Creek and Grovers around 3:30 a.m. in response to a call of someone who pointed a gun. Officers located the suspect vehicle and tried to make a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled.

The car was found soon after near 23rd Street and Grovers. It had caught fire and two people who were in the car were no longer at the scene.

Fire crews extinguished the fire and located a body in the trunk of the vehicle.
