Phoenix fire says a months-old child is dead after being rescued from a hot car in north Phoenix.
Authorities were called to the area of 44th Street and Greenway Road around 4 p.m. on Friday after a 7-month-old boy was found locked in a hot car.
Police said Zane Endress was in the car for "several hours" although an exact time is unknown.
Endress was dead when help arrived, officials said. He was not taken to a hospital.
Officials said the family was unaware that the baby was left behind in the vehicle.
Police say the boy was under the care of the grandparents at the time of the incident and no arrests have been made at this time.
