Police are investigating after several car windows were shattered in north Phoenix early Thursday morning.
Phoenix police say several people in the area of Union Hills Drive and State Route 51 reported waking up to broken car windows.
Nic Anderson says the back window of his girlfriend’s SUV was shattered. Several holes and a dent in the tailgate make him think someone drove by and unloaded.
"Kind of just all fell apart," said Anderson who was told by police it was likely a BB gun. He said a neighbor had identical damage and his girlfriend found more victims at work.
Some of the houses border a well-traveled, long stretch of road which makes Anderson think the culprits were likely out joyriding, with no particular targets.
"It's probably teenagers aimlessly shooting for fun, if that's what they call this," Anderson said. "It's irritating, now we're down a car while it gets fixed and we don't want to clean up their mess."
No suspect information has been released and police are still investigating. Anyone with any information is asked to call Phoenix police.
