Police have arrested an 18-year-old after a series of incidents involving shot-out windows in Phoenix neighborhoods.

Edwin Pacheco was booked into jail on five counts of criminal damage. He could face additional charges, as police are still investigating nearly 80 cases of broken windows in North Phoenix communities since Feb. 17.

Police reportedly took evidence, including a BB gun during a traffic stop. A witness reportedly led police to Pacheco's silver Volkswagen Golf.

Even though someone is behind bars some neighbors said they aren't entirely satisfied.

At the time of the crimes, the neighborhood near 7th Street and Bell Road was on edge. A night that was supposed to be relaxing quickly changed for resident Ralf Hendrichs.

"I saw my neighbors all gathered together. It looked like cars had been shot," he said.

Multiple cars had their windows shattered from what seemed to be a BB gun, and that’s when Hendrichs remembered the security cameras at his home.

"You can clearly see on the footage that an air rifle or something in that small caliber gun was used," he said.

Pacheco is behind bars, but the others involved are still on the loose, police said.

“You can clearly see that someone is driving the car and the shooter is in the back of the car," Hendrichs said as he showed ABC15 his security footage.

He said he can't help but wonder why police never asked him for his surveillance video. He said he is glad that at least someone will be held accountable for the crimes and hopes this never happen again.

"I won't park my car in the driveway anymore," he said.
