Authorities say a teenager was struck and killed by a car in Phoenix Friday evening.
Around 9:30 p.m. police received reports of an accident in the area of 43rd Avenue and Thunderbird Road.
According to officials, 17-year-old David Rosales was cross Thunderbird Road mid-block when he was hit by a car heading east on Thunderbird Road.
Rosales was taken to the hospital where he later died, a police spokesman said. The driver remained at the scene and impairment does not appear to be a factor.
Earlier this month, a pedestrian was hit and killed by a car in west Phoenix near 43rd and Missouri avenues.
The person, later identified as 52-year-old Martin Jones, was attempting to cross 43rd Avenue outside of the crosswalk when he was struck.
