UPDATE: Police release name of man found dead in truck of burning car in north Phoenix

Police are releasing the name of a man who was found dead in thetruck of a burning car.

On March 30, police responded to the area of Cave Creek Road and Union Hills Drive around 3:30 a.m. after receiving reports about a person making threats with a gun. The person who called 911 also gave police a description of the vehicle that the suspect was last seen in.

Shortly after receiving the reports, police spotted a similar vehicle at a service station near Cave Creek and Beardsley roads. After following the suspicious car a short distance, police attempted a traffic stop, police said.

The car sped off before turning onto Grovers Avenue. Police later discovered the vehicle had pulled off the roadway and was fully engulfed in flames, a police spokesperson said.

According to officials, once the fire was put out 40-year-old Dustin Jones' body was found in the trunk. 

Police are searching for two suspects in connection to the incident. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to an arrest.
