PHOENIX — A 31-year-old woman is dead after an apartment fire in west Phoenix Saturday afternoon.
Fire crews were called to scene near 31st and Peoria avenues around 2:15 p.m.
When crews arrived on scene, they found a fire burning in a ground floor unit. While extinguishing the fire, Phoenix police say first responders found 31-year-old Echo Blaisure unresponsive inside a bathtub.
Blaisure was transported to the hospital where she later died from her injuries, according to Phoenix Fire Captain Mark Vanacore. Phoenix police say they found so signs of foul play.
Vanacore said the fire was isolated to one unit and no firefighters were hurt in the blaze.
