Police have identified an 18-year-old man who they believe assaulted a Valley veteran and then fled from the scene.
According to the Chandler Police Department, Cody Gibson is being sought in connection to a hit-and-run of Steven Richardson, 31, who suffered severe head injuries on Thursday when he stepped in to stop the man who was dragging a woman by her hair. Gibson is believed to have ran over the veteran with an SUV at a Fry's grocery store parking lot and then left the area.
Gibson is described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs about 200 pounds and is Native American.
