The Gilbert Fire Department was able to take control of a large debris fire in a yard and prevent it from extending to nearby homes just north of Riggs Road and 164th Street.
According to officials, crews were called out to a 2-acre property where the fire started. The fire was contained to the yard that contained several older cars and "debris." No humans or animals were hurt.
Crews are investigating the cause of the fire.
