The Gilbert Fire Department says a two-year-old is in extremely critical condition after a drowning call Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened near Elliot and Lindsay roads around 4 p.m.
Firefighters said the young boy was found floating in the backyard pool by his mother. She started performing CPR until first responders were able to take over.
The child has been taken to the hospital.
Officials did not immediately know how long the child was in the water before being found.
