Authorities responded to the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway after a concerned motorist reported a man with a weapon in the area.
State Troopers and Mesa Police Department officers responded to search for the person.
A Mesa Police spokesman said the subject was located in the area.
The man was questioned and released. Police said the man had a BB gun, which he uses to shoot pigeons.
No other details were released.
