The Loop 202 is back open in both directions Wednesday evening in Mesa after authorities investigated a suspicious object.
A spokesman for the Arizona Department of Public Safety said they were investigating an "unidentifiable object, possibly hazardous blocking the off ramp."
As of 5:40 p.m., the Country Club Drive exit ramp remained closed.
Air15 showed a robot lifting the lid of what appeared to be a red cooler with the letters "QT" written in black on the side.
Eastbound traffic was forced off the freeway at Alma School Road and was allowed to reenter at Country Club Drive, said Arizona Department of Transportation.
Westbound traffic had to exit at Gilbert Road and was able to reenter at Country Club Drive.
DPS has not yet said what was inside the object.
